Type
Skin Tightening
Duration
1 hour
Thermolifting at MarBelle Clinic uses the Asclepion MeDioStar platform to deliver controlled diode laser energy into the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue, producing thermal collagen contraction and stimulating new collagen synthesis — without breaking the skin surface. This non-ablative approach to skin tightening is suitable for patients with mild to moderate laxity on the face, submental area, neck, décolletage, abdomen, knees, and arms who want measurable improvement without the recovery time of ablative treatments or surgery.
Thermolifting — sometimes referred to as diode laser skin tightening — exploits the same physical principle that underlies other energy-based skin-tightening devices, but uses the MeDioStar's diode laser as the energy source rather than radiofrequency or ultrasound. The laser wavelength penetrates to the papillary and upper reticular dermis and is absorbed by water molecules in the tissue, generating heat. When dermal temperatures reach approximately 60–70°C, collagen triple helices denature and contract — producing immediate tissue tightening. This acute phase is followed by a slower regenerative response: fibroblasts are activated by the thermal stimulus and produce new type I collagen over the following weeks, improving dermal architecture over a two-to-three-month period. Because the energy delivery is non-ablative — the epidermis is not removed or damaged — the skin surface remains intact throughout. The MeDioStar's integrated contact cooling system cools the skin surface during treatment, protecting the epidermis from thermal injury while allowing the target temperature to be achieved in the dermis. Patients experience a warm to hot sensation during each pulse, with no more than mild discomfort in most zones. Facial zones treated at MarBelle include the lower face and jowl area (where laxity often manifests first), the submental region (chin-to-neck junction), and the neck. Body zones include the décolletage, periumbilical abdomen, above and below the knees, and upper arms — areas where skin laxity following weight changes, ageing, or loss of skin elasticity is common. Typically one to three sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart are recommended, with results building progressively as new collagen matures. There is no meaningful downtime — mild redness and warmth for a few hours post-treatment is the expected response. SPF application is advised afterward.
