Gouri is an injectable polycaprolactone (PCL) biostimulator that spreads uniformly through facial tissue planes to trigger sustained collagen production across a broad treatment area. Unlike filler-based collagen stimulators (such as Sculptra) that require specific volumetric placement, Gouri's liquid PCL formula flows freely through facial tissue after injection, providing comprehensive biostimulation from a small number of injection points. The result is progressive skin tightening and improved texture over two to three months, lasting up to two years.
Polycaprolactone is a biodegradable synthetic polymer with a long history of safe use in surgical sutures and drug delivery systems. In injectable aesthetic medicine, PCL acts as a collagen stimulator: as the polymer degrades slowly over 12–24 months, it continuously stimulates the fibroblast response, producing new collagen fibres that improve the dermis's structural integrity over time. Gouri is a Korean-developed injectable product that takes an unusual approach to PCL delivery — it is formulated as a liquid rather than microspheres, allowing it to spread freely through the adipose and fascial tissue planes of the face rather than remaining concentrated at the injection point. This means a relatively small number of injections — typically five to seven points distributed across the face — results in biostimulatory coverage across the entire midface and lower face. Each injection point serves as a diffusion centre from which the polymer percolates through the loose connective tissue of the subcutaneous layer. The collagen-stimulating effect is gradual: most patients notice the beginning of skin improvement at four to six weeks post-treatment, with maximum tightening at two to three months as new collagen fibres organise and mature. The duration of effect is estimated at 18–24 months, making it one of the longer-lasting injectable biostimulators available. At MarBelle Clinic, Gouri is offered as a single or two-ampoule session. The second ampoule can be administered in the same visit for broader or more intensive coverage — particularly relevant for patients with significant surface area to address or those combining with other injectable treatments in the same appointment. Numbering preparation ensures patient comfort; side effects are limited to mild swelling and occasionally small bruises at injection points, typically resolving within 48–72 hours. The liquid PCL formula degrades completely without leaving residue.
