HiFU Ultrasound Lifting

High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HiFU) is a non-invasive lifting treatment that targets the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) — the same tissue layer addressed in a surgical facelift — without any incision or downtime. At Luna Klinik the device focuses ultrasound energy at precisely defined depths in the skin and underlying fascia, heating tissue to approximately 60–70°C in a series of micro-coagulation points that trigger an immediate tissue contraction and a sustained collagen-remodelling response over the following months. Sessions start at 4,900 Kč for 45 minutes and are suitable for facial lifting, neck tightening and brow elevation.

HiFU — High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound — works on a principle borrowed from medical ablation therapy: by focusing ultrasound waves at a precise point below the skin surface, the device deposits heat at a defined tissue depth without affecting the skin layers above or below the focal point. At 1.5 mm depth the device targets the superficial dermis and stimulates collagen; at 3 mm it treats the deep dermis; at 4.5 mm it reaches the SMAS, the fibromuscular layer that supports the lower face and neck. This depth capability is what distinguishes HiFU from surface-level radiofrequency treatments and allows it to address the structural causes of sagging rather than only the skin's surface. At each focal point the ultrasound energy raises tissue temperature to approximately 60–70°C for a fraction of a second, creating a tiny zone of thermal coagulation. The immediate response is a mild inflammatory cascade that contracts existing collagen fibres — providing a subtle but measurable lift from the first session. Over the following two to three months, the body's wound-healing process builds new collagen and elastin in the treated zones, progressively improving skin density, firmness and lift. The full result is usually visible at three months and can continue improving for up to six months. A coupling gel is applied and the handpiece is moved systematically across the face in rows, delivering multiple energy lines. Patients typically feel warmth, vibration and brief sharp sensations as energy is deposited at depth; the SMAS shots (4.5 mm) are the most intense. The treatment takes 45 minutes for a focused protocol; broader face, neck and body work runs longer.
