Once a dental implant has integrated with the bone, a custom crown is fitted on top to restore the visible tooth. This prosthetic stage follows the surgical placement of the implant post and completes the restoration so the tooth can be used normally for biting and chewing. About this treatment
An implant crown is the visible, tooth-shaped restoration that is attached to a dental implant once it has fused with the jawbone. It is the final stage of single-tooth implant treatment: the titanium post replaces the root, and the crown replaces the part of the tooth you see and use. The crown is custom-made to match the size, shape and colour of the neighbouring teeth so the result blends in naturally.
