Cone-Beam CT Scan (CBCT)

Type

CT Scan

Duration

20 min

Cone-beam CT (CBCT) is a 3D dental scan that shows the teeth, jawbone, nerves and sinuses in detail, supporting accurate planning for implants, extractions and root canal treatment. At LuksDent a partial CBCT scan is 300 zł and a full-jaw scan is 400 zł, with a 2D panoramic X-ray available for 200 zł. Having imaging in-house means the dentist can assess bone and anatomy precisely before surgical or complex treatment, helping make procedures safer and more predictable.

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a specialised dental scan that produces a three-dimensional image of the teeth, jaws, surrounding bone, nerve canals and sinuses. Unlike a standard flat X-ray, a 3D scan lets the dentist measure bone height and width, see the exact position of anatomical structures, and assess teeth and roots from any angle. This level of detail is particularly useful for planning dental implants, assessing impacted teeth before surgical removal, investigating complex root canal anatomy, and evaluating bone before grafting. At LuksDent imaging is available on site, which means findings can be discussed at the same visit and treatment planned without referral elsewhere. A partial (segment) CBCT scan, focused on a specific area, is 300 zł, and a full-jaw CBCT scan is 400 zł; a two-dimensional panoramic (pantomographic) X-ray, which gives a broad overview of all the teeth and jaws, is 200 zł. The scan itself is quick and straightforward — you stay still for a short time while the scanner rotates around the head — and the resulting images are reviewed by the dentist as part of planning your treatment. Having accurate imaging beforehand is associated with more predictable surgical and implant outcomes because the clinician can avoid important structures and choose the right approach. The dentist will recommend the appropriate type of scan for your situation and explain what the images show.
