This distinguishes the treatment from standard beauty-studio peels and allows the physician to address more significant skin concerns safely. The active acids used include: - **Glycolic acid** (alpha-hydroxy acid, AHA): water-soluble, smallest molecule of the AHA family, penetrates to the dermis to stimulate collagen production and accelerate corneocyte turnover.
