About this treatment
Rhinoplasty is among the most technically demanding procedures in plastic surgery, requiring an intimate understanding of the underlying cartilaginous and bony architecture as well as the balance between aesthetic change and functional airflow. Dr. Law's craniofacial fellowship training — completed at Medical City Dallas and Baylor University Medical Center — positions him among a small group of surgeons in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with…
For cosmetic rhinoplasty, Dr. Law offers both the open approach — using a small incision across the columella combined with internal incisions — and the closed approach, in which all incisions remain hidden inside the nose. The open technique affords greater visualization and control for complex reshaping; the closed technique avoids the external columellar scar for patients with more limited goals.
Common aesthetic objectives include refining a bulbous or undefined nasal tip, reducing or augmenting the nasal bridge (dorsum), narrowing a wide base with alarplasty (nostril reduction), and correcting asymmetry. Structural support is provided using cartilage harvested from the nasal septum, or from the ear or rib in revision or augmentation cases.
