Anti-wrinkle injections use small, precisely placed doses of botulinum toxin to temporarily reduce the activity of specific facial muscles. By easing how strongly those muscles contract, the overlying skin creases less and existing dynamic lines soften over the following days, with movement preserved rather than frozen when the dose is well judged. The most commonly treated areas are the glabella (frown lines between the brows), the horizontal forehead lines and the crow's feet around the eyes. Single areas are priced at 600 zł, the whole forehead at 900 zł and the forehead combined with crow's feet at 1,200 zł, with a premium long-acting formulation (Relfydess) available for the forehead and crow's feet at 1,400 zł for patients who prefer a longer interval between sessions. The injections take only a few minutes using a very fine needle; no anaesthetic is usually required and most people return to normal activities the same day, avoiding lying flat, heat and vigorous exercise for the rest of the day. Results typically begin after three to seven days and settle by two weeks, generally lasting three to four months before movement gradually returns.
