Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments available for skin rejuvenation, and at Laser Care MUDr. Šťastná the procedure is performed by the physician personally. The treatment uses a fractional CO2 laser — carbon dioxide lasers emit at 10,600 nm, in the far-infrared range, where water in skin tissue absorbs the energy intensely. In fractional mode, the beam is divided into an array of microscopic treatment spots (microbeams), each creating a column of ablated and coagulated tissue that extends from the epidermis down into the papillary and mid-dermal layer. Between the columns, untreated tissue bridges remain intact, providing the biological substrate for rapid healing and significantly reducing the risk of prolonged recovery compared to fully ablative CO2 treatment. The immediate effect of each ablation column is coagulation of the tissue proteins, stimulating the wound-healing cascade: inflammatory mediators recruit fibroblasts, fibroblasts deposit new collagen and elastin, and the remodelling phase gradually tightens and smooths the skin over the following three to six months.
