A thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure in which fine, absorbable threads are introduced beneath the skin to provide gentle mechanical lift and to stimulate the skin's own collagen along the lines they follow. As the threads are gradually absorbed over the months after treatment, the collagen laid down around them helps maintain a firmer, subtly lifted appearance. LABRA offers two materials: PDO (polydioxanone) threads, a widely used option, and PCL (polycaprolactone) threads, which are absorbed more slowly and associated with a longer-lasting effect. Both are priced per thread with discounts as the quantity rises, so the treatment can be tailored — a few threads for a discreet refresh or a larger number for a more defined result. The area is cleansed and numbed before the threads are placed through a fine needle or cannula; the procedure typically takes around forty-five to sixty minutes depending on how many threads are used and where. Mild swelling, tenderness, bruising and a slight pulling sensation for several days are normal, and it is usually advised to avoid wide mouth movements, dental work and facial massage for a short period while the threads settle. The result is immediate in part and continues to improve as collagen develops, with longevity depending on the thread type and individual factors. A thread lift is best suited to adults with mild to moderate skin laxity who want a non-surgical lift; it is not a replacement for a surgical facelift in cases of significant sagging.
