A three-marker thyroid panel measuring TSH (the pituitary signal that regulates the thyroid), free T4 (the active circulating thyroid hormone) and anti-TPO antibodies (a marker of autoimmune thyroid disease such as Hashimoto's). Together they assess both how the thyroid is functioning and whether an autoimmune process is involved. Drawn at the ISO 15189-accredited Brno-Starý Lískovec laboratory, results usually within 24 hours.

Štítná žláza (Thyroid) is a self-pay panel that evaluates thyroid health on two levels: function and autoimmunity. Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) is released by the pituitary gland to regulate the thyroid, and it is the most sensitive single indicator of whether the gland is underactive or overactive — a high TSH typically points to an underactive thyroid, a low TSH to an overactive one. Free thyroxine (free T4) measures the active, unbound form of the main thyroid hormone in circulation, helping to confirm and grade what the TSH suggests. Anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies (anti-TPO) detect the autoimmune attack that underlies conditions such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis, so a raised level helps explain the cause of abnormal function rather than just its presence. The panel is well suited to people with symptoms that can stem from thyroid imbalance — unexplained fatigue, weight change, temperature intolerance, hair or skin changes — or those with a family history of thyroid disease who want a baseline. The sample is a standard venous blood draw of around fifteen minutes, taken on a walk-in basis between 07:00 and 11:00, Monday to Friday, at the second-floor collection room of the Poliklinika U Pošty in Brno-Starý Lískovec; confirm any fasting requirement when booking. All sampling material is provided free of charge. Results are typically released within 24 hours, collected in person against signature and ID or via secure electronic delivery arranged at the collection room. Because the panel combines a functional pair (TSH and free T4) with an autoimmune marker (anti-TPO), it answers both "is the thyroid working normally?" and "if not, is autoimmunity the reason?" in one draw — more informative than a TSH-only screen. Results are best interpreted by a physician alongside symptoms, and a raised anti-TPO with normal function may simply warrant periodic monitoring. All analysis is performed under ČSN EN ISO 15189 accreditation.
