Full-Ceramic Veneer

Type

Veneers

Duration

2 hours

Veneers are thin shells bonded to the front of the teeth to improve their colour, shape and alignment, commonly used across the upper front teeth for a smile makeover. KM Dental Experts offers durable full-ceramic veneers as well as a lower-cost composite option. For multi-tooth cases the centre can prepare a mock-up or wax-up so you can preview the planned result before any irreversible work begins.

A veneer is a thin facing — most often porcelain or composite — bonded to the visible surface of a front tooth to change its appearance. Veneers are used to brighten discoloured teeth that do not respond to whitening, to reshape worn, chipped or uneven teeth, to close small gaps and to create a more harmonious smile line across the upper front teeth. Full-ceramic veneers are valued for their strength and lifelike translucency, while composite veneers offer a more economical, often more conservative route that can usually be completed more quickly. At KM Dental Experts a smile design typically starts with photographs, shade selection and, for multi-tooth cases, a mock-up or wax-up that lets you see and approve the proposed shape before the teeth are prepared. Ceramic veneers usually involve minimal preparation of the enamel, an impression, and bonding of the finished veneers at a second visit, with temporaries in between; composite veneers are built up and shaped directly on the tooth. The centre also lists bonding and direct composite work for smaller cosmetic corrections. Veneers are a cosmetic treatment for adults with healthy teeth and gums; the dentist will check that the bite, gum health and enamel are suitable and discuss longevity, care and realistic expectations. Because preparation of ceramic veneers is not reversible, the planning and preview stage is emphasised. The final number of teeth, material choice and cost are agreed at consultation.
