Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a low-dose 3D dental scan that shows the teeth, jawbone, nerves and sinuses in three dimensions — detail that flat X-rays cannot provide. Klinika Kwiatek performs CBCT in-house to plan implants, assess complex root canals and guide surgical procedures such as impacted-tooth removal. Scans are priced by how much is captured, from a single region to both arches, alongside digital panoramic and cephalometric X-rays.
A dental cone-beam CT (CBCT) scan uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam rotating around the head to build a three-dimensional image of the teeth, jaws and surrounding structures at a much lower radiation dose than a conventional medical CT. Unlike a standard two-dimensional dental X-ray, a CBCT lets the dentist assess bone volume and density, the precise position of nerves and sinuses, the anatomy of root canals and the orientation of impacted teeth — information that is central to safe, accurate planning. At Klinika Kwiatek CBCT is available on site and is used routinely to plan implant placement (assessing where there is enough bone and whether grafting or a sinus lift is needed), to investigate complex or re-treatment endodontic cases, and to plan surgical extractions of impacted teeth. Scans are priced by field of view — 180 zł for a single region, 220 zł for one arch and 320 zł for both arches — and the clinic also offers digital panoramic and cephalometric radiographs at 100 zł each for broader assessment and orthodontic planning. The scan itself takes only seconds of exposure and is painless, with the patient simply staying still while the unit rotates. Having imaging in-house means planning and treatment can be coordinated in one place. CBCT is requested when its diagnostic benefit justifies the imaging; the dentist determines the appropriate scan based on the clinical need.
