Male Breast Reduction — Gynecomastia (Body Jet)

Type

Breast Surgery

Duration

1 hour

Male breast enlargement caused by excess fatty tissue (pseudogynecomastia) can be permanently resolved at Klinika Kasiopea using Body Jet water-jet liposuction under local anaesthesia. The one-hour outpatient procedure removes the fatty tissue responsible for the rounded or feminine-appearing male chest, with patients discharged within 30 minutes of completion. MUDr. Brychcí performs the procedure without general anaesthesia, scarring is minimal (access points only), and men can return to light work from day two. The treatment is suitable for pseudogynecomastia — excess breast fat — and can be combined with abdominal or hip liposuction in the same session.

Male breast tissue enlargement presents in two distinct forms: true gynecomastia, where actual breast gland tissue hypertrophies under hormonal influence, and pseudogynecomastia, where the enlargement is caused by excess fatty tissue in the chest region without true glandular involvement. Klinika Kasiopea's liposuction-based approach is appropriate for pseudogynecomastia — a distinction the clinic clarifies at consultation, as true gynecomastia requires glandular excision rather than fat removal. Pseudogynecomastia is very common, affecting a substantial proportion of overweight men and many men within the normal weight range where genetic fat distribution concentrates subcutaneous fat in the pectoral area. Despite weight loss, the chest fat often persists because adipocytes in this region are sensitive to the same sex-hormone signals that drive true gynecomastia — low testosterone and elevated oestrogen — making diet and exercise insufficiently effective treatments. At Klinika Kasiopea, the procedure uses the Body Jet water-jet-assisted liposuction system under local anaesthesia. The patient lies supine and the chest area is marked and infiltrated with tumescent solution. Body Jet cannulas are introduced through small access points placed at the inferior border of the pectoral area, working in a systematic fan pattern to remove the chest fatty tissue from lateral to central. Special attention is paid to the area directly under the nipple-areolar complex, where fat is often densest and where irregular removal would create visible contour deformities. Procedure time is approximately 60 minutes. The patient is mobile immediately post-procedure and is discharged within 30 minutes following a brief observation period. Light work and daily activities can resume from day two; strenuous upper-body exercise, swimming and sunbathing over the treated area are avoided for two to four weeks. A compression vest is worn continuously for the first week, then during the day for a further four to five weeks as the chest skin retracts to the new flatter profile. The procedure can be combined in the same session with abdominal liposuction (to address coexisting belly fat) or hip liposuction, with each additional area priced separately but with the patient undergoing a single anaesthesia event. The result — a flatter, more masculine-appearing chest — is visible within two to four weeks as swelling resolves and the skin begins to contract. Full retraction is complete at three to four months. Because the fat cells are permanently removed, the result is stable with normal weight maintenance; significant future weight gain can lead to redistribution of fat to the chest from remaining adipocytes.
