Performed under local anaesthesia in about an hour, it offers a visible lift with days rather than weeks of downtime — positioned between injectables and a surgical facelift. As a plastic-surgery clinic, Esthé can candidly advise when threads are sufficient and when a facelift (also performed in-house, from 97,000 Kč) is the better investment.

Thread lifting addresses the gap between filler (which restores volume but cannot reposition tissue) and facelift surgery (which repositions tissue definitively but requires weeks of recovery). Resorbable threads — typically PDO, PLLA or polycaprolactone with tiny barbs or cones — are introduced under the skin through entry points hidden in the hairline or behind natural creases. Once anchored, gentle traction repositions the soft tissue upward; over the following months the threads dissolve, leaving behind new collagen along their tracks that helps maintain firmness. **Best candidates:** patients in their late 30s to 50s with mild to moderate sagging — early jowls, softened jawline, descending midface or brow tail — and reasonable skin quality. Significant skin excess or heavy sagging responds poorly to threads; at Esthé, those patients are referred internally to the facelift team rather than sold an underpowered treatment. **The procedure:** local anaesthesia at entry points and along thread paths; insertion takes 30–60 minutes depending on zones. Patients walk out the same day. Expect tightness, mild swelling, possible bruising and small skin irregularities that settle over 1–2 weeks. Chewing-heavy foods, wide yawning and face-down sleeping are avoided for the first weeks. **Results:** an immediate mechanical lift visible at once, refining as swelling resolves; the collagen-stimulation component builds over 2–3 months.
