Root Canal Treatment (Single Canal)

Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, then cleans, shapes and seals the canals to save a tooth that might otherwise need extraction. Inside every tooth is a soft core of nerve and blood vessels called the pulp. When this becomes infected or irreversibly inflamed — through deep decay, a crack or trauma — root canal (endodontic) treatment is used to relieve pain and save the tooth. The dentist removes the diseased pulp, carefully cleans and shapes the fine canals inside the roots, disinfects them and seals them with a stable filling material, allowing the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. At Klinika dr Gajda the treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic, with sedation available, and pricing reflects the complexity of the tooth: 800 zł for a single canal, 1,000 zł for two and 1,500 zł for three, with each extra canal adding 500 zł. For difficult cases the clinic offers treatment under a dental operating microscope — which adds 20% to the fee — giving better visualisation of the canal system and helping with tasks such as locating fine canals, managing perforations or removing a fractured instrument. Teeth that have been root-treated before but remain symptomatic can be re-treated (from 900 zł for a single canal), and procedures such as sealing a perforation or treating through an existing crown are listed separately. Because a root-treated tooth becomes more brittle, the dentist will usually recommend a crown or a substantial restoration afterwards to protect it, which is quoted on its own. The number of visits and the final cost are confirmed once the tooth has been assessed, often with the help of an X-ray or 3D scan.
