A 3D cone-beam CT (CBCT) scan captures a three-dimensional volume of the jaws using a low-dose, focused X-ray, giving the dentist a far more complete picture than a flat two-dimensional radiograph. It reveals bone height, width and quality, the exact position of tooth roots, nerves and the sinuses, and the shape of impacted or buried teeth — information that is associated with safer, more predictable treatment planning. At Klinika dr Gajda a full 3D tomography scan is 450 zł, with a sectional scan (150 zł) or a half-arch scan (250 zł) available when only a specific area needs imaging, helping to keep the field of view — and the radiation dose — appropriate to the task. CBCT is particularly important for implant planning, where the clinic uses it to choose implant size and position and to assess whether bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed; it also supports complex root canal treatment, the assessment of difficult extractions and impacted wisdom teeth, and the investigation of cysts or other lesions. The scan itself takes only a short time, is painless and requires no special preparation. For more routine needs the clinic also offers conventional radiographs, including single-tooth and bitewing X-rays and a full panoramic (OPG) image at 100 zł.
