Botulinum toxin injected into the masseter muscles on both sides of the jaw to ease clenching and grinding (bruxism). By relaxing these powerful chewing muscles, the treatment can reduce jaw tension, associated headaches and tooth wear, and over time may slim a heavily built jawline. It is performed by a physician and priced for treatment of both sides in a single visit.

About this treatment

Bruxism — habitual clenching and grinding of the teeth, often during sleep — places heavy load on the masseter muscles of the jaw and can lead to jaw ache, tension headaches, tooth wear and a squared, over-developed lower face. Injecting botulinum toxin into both masseters reduces the strength of their contraction, which can relieve the tension and associated symptoms and, as a secondary effect, gradually soften an enlarged jaw contour.

At Kamed Estetyka the physician examines the jaw, asks you to clench so the muscle bulk can be felt, and places a small number of injections into each masseter using a fine needle. The procedure takes only minutes and you can return to normal activities straight away; chewing is unaffected for everyday eating. Relief from clenching usually develops over one to two weeks as the toxin takes effect, with benefits commonly lasting around three to four months…
