Ceramic veneers are thin, custom-made porcelain shells bonded to the front of the teeth to transform their colour, shape and alignment with a highly natural, stain-resistant finish. Made in a dental laboratory to a precise design, they offer a more durable and lifelike result than composite, and are used to create an even, brighter smile. Treatment is planned carefully and completed over two visits.
Ceramic (porcelain) veneers are slim, custom-fabricated shells of dental ceramic bonded to the front surfaces of the teeth to improve their appearance. Because each veneer is designed and made in a laboratory, ceramic veneers can deliver a particularly natural, light-reflecting result and are highly resistant to staining, making them a long-lasting way to correct discoloured, worn, chipped, slightly crooked or unevenly spaced front teeth and to create a brighter, more harmonious smile. At Kaja Dental treatment begins with careful planning of the desired shape and shade; a small, precise amount of enamel is usually prepared from the front of each tooth so the veneer sits flush and looks natural, and an impression or digital scan is taken for the laboratory, with temporaries placed in the meantime. At the second visit the fit, colour and bite of the finished veneers are checked before they are bonded firmly in place. Compared with composite veneers, ceramic veneers are stronger, more stain-resistant and longer-lasting, though they involve a laboratory stage, a higher cost and, because some enamel is removed, are generally not reversible — considerations the dentist discusses fully beforehand. They are best suited to healthy teeth and well-controlled gums, and good home hygiene plus regular professional cleaning helps them last for many years. The dentist will assess suitability, plan the smile design, and advise where a veneer, a full crown or a more conservative composite option is the better choice for each tooth.
