The face-plus-neck RF microneedling protocol at K2 Medical extends the standard facial treatment to include the anterior and lateral neck — an area that often shows signs of ageing earlier than the face due to thinner dermis, reduced sebaceous gland density, and chronic sun exposure. Horizontal necklace lines, vertical platysmal bands, and crepey skin texture on the neck are common concerns that respond well to the combined mechanical and thermal stimulation of RF microneedling. The neck skin presents unique treatment considerations compared to the face. The dermis is thinner (approximately 1mm versus 1.5-2mm on the cheeks), requiring shallower needle penetration depths and adjusted energy settings to avoid excessive thermal damage. The treating physician calibrates needle depth and RF intensity separately for each zone — deeper penetration with higher energy on the cheeks and jawline, and shallower, gentler settings on the delicate neck skin and periorbital area. Treating the face and neck together in a single session ensures continuity of skin quality across the jawline transition. Isolated facial treatments can sometimes create a visible contrast between a rejuvenated face and an untreated neck, which can paradoxically draw attention to the neck's ageing.
