The DermaPen 4 is a fourth-generation automated microneedling pen that uses a cartridge of fine surgical-grade needles oscillating at high speed to create precise micro-channels in the skin. Unlike roller-based microneedling devices, the pen format allows vertical needle entry and exit — minimising lateral tearing and ensuring consistent, controlled depth across all treatment zones including curved and contoured areas of the face. At K2 Medical, the DermaPen 4 facial session addresses a broad range of skin quality concerns: fine lines, uneven texture, mild acne scarring, enlarged pores, dull complexion, and early signs of skin laxity. The treating physician adjusts needle depth (0.25mm to 2.5mm) based on the zone being treated — shallower on the thin periorbital and perioral skin, deeper on the thicker cheeks and forehead where collagen remodelling demand is greatest. The thousands of micro-channels created during treatment serve a dual purpose.
