CO2 Fractional Laser Face

Type

Laser Therapy (HILT)

Duration

45 min

Ablative fractional CO2 laser resurfacing for the face. Creates microscopic columns of vaporised tissue surrounded by untreated skin, triggering intensive collagen remodelling for scar reduction, deep wrinkle improvement, and skin texture renewal.

Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is one of the most effective single-modality treatments available for significant skin texture correction, and K2 Medical offers it as a face-only session at 1,000 PLN. The 10,600nm wavelength of the carbon dioxide laser has a high affinity for water in tissue, allowing it to precisely vaporise microscopic columns of skin (microthermal treatment zones) while leaving the surrounding tissue intact. This fractional pattern is the key innovation over traditional full-field ablative resurfacing — the untreated columns act as reservoirs of viable cells that accelerate healing and reduce complication risk. Each laser pulse creates a column of ablation approximately 100 to 300 microns in diameter, extending through the epidermis and into the papillary or reticular dermis depending on the energy and pulse duration settings. The surrounding thermal coagulation zone triggers immediate collagen contraction (visible as skin tightening during the procedure) and initiates a wound-healing cascade that produces new collagen over the following 3 to 6 months. Clinical applications at K2 Medical include atrophic acne scarring, surgical or traumatic scars, photoageing with deep rhytides, dyschromia and sun damage, enlarged pores, and overall skin texture irregularity. The physician adjusts density (percentage of skin surface treated) and depth based on the specific indication — higher density and deeper penetration for acne scarring, lighter settings for general rejuvenation. Downtime for fractional CO2 is more significant than for non-ablative treatments. Patients should expect 5 to 10 days of visible healing — redness, oozing, crusting, and peeling as the ablated columns re-epithelialise. Sun avoidance and diligent moisturising are essential during this period. Most patients see substantial improvement after a single session, though deeper scars may benefit from 2 to 3 treatments spaced 2 to 3 months apart.
