Platelet-rich plasma injected into the scalp to support hair follicles and reduce shedding in early-stage thinning. Using growth factors concentrated from your own blood, it aims to strengthen existing hair and prolong the growth phase. It is best suited to early or moderate thinning rather than long-established baldness, and works best as a course with ongoing maintenance.

About this treatment

Platelet-rich plasma for hair applies the same regenerative principle as PRP for the skin, focused on the scalp. A small blood sample is spun to concentrate its platelets and growth factors, which are then injected across the thinning areas of the scalp. The growth factors are thought to improve the local blood supply to hair follicles, prolong the active growth phase and reduce excessive shedding, helping existing hair look thicker and healthier.

At Jurenko Clinic the session takes around thirty to forty-five minutes, with the scalp numbed for comfort. There is essentially no downtime beyond possible mild tenderness. PRP works best for early-to-moderate, non-scarring hair thinning — including age- and hormone-related thinning — rather than areas where follicles are already lost, so realistic expectations are set at consultation.
