Facial Volumetry & Contouring (Hyaluronic Acid)

Hyaluronic acid used to restore volume and definition where the face has flattened with age — cheeks, chin, jawline and temples. Rather than simply filling lines, the physician plans volumetry across the face so proportions stay balanced and the result looks natural. Plans range from a single area to a fuller contouring approach using several millilitres across sessions.

Facial volumetry and contouring uses cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel to replace the deep volume gradually lost from the cheeks, temples, chin and jawline with age. Because that volume loss is a major driver of sagging and deepening folds, restoring it in the right places often does more for a refreshed appearance than treating individual lines. At Jurenko Clinic the physician assesses the face as a whole — working to the clinic's principle of facial proportion — and proposes a plan that can range from a single cheek or chin correction up to a structured, multi-area approach using several millilitres across one or more sessions. Numbing cream is applied first and most fillers also contain lidocaine for comfort. The gel is placed with a needle or, frequently, a blunt cannula to support deeper structures safely; results are visible immediately and continue to settle over one to two weeks as any initial swelling resolves. Mild swelling, tenderness or small bruises are normal for a few days. Hyaluronic acid volumetry typically lasts around twelve to eighteen months depending on the product and area before the gel is naturally broken down. A key advantage of hyaluronic acid is that it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, giving an added margin of safety and the option to adjust. Volumetry suits adults noticing flattening of the cheeks, a less defined jaw or chin, or loss of structure in the mid-face; suitability is reviewed at consultation and it is not performed in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
