Duration
30 min
Surgical and laser mole removal by a fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon, with dermoscopy assessment for malignancy and histopathological review where indicated.
Joyce Lim Skin & Laser Clinic offers dermatologist-led mole and skin lesion removal as part of its surgical dermatology programme. Dr Joyce Lim — who served as Division Head of Dermatologic and Laser Surgery at Singapore's National Skin Centre and is a fellow of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery — performs both diagnostic and therapeutic excisions. The process begins with a clinical and dermoscopic assessment of the lesion to evaluate morphology and determine the appropriate management approach. Benign pigmented lesions, seborrhoeic keratoses, dermal naevi, and intradermal moles can be removed by surgical excision, shave biopsy, electrocautery, or laser ablation depending on size, depth, and location. For suspicious lesions meeting dermoscopic criteria for concern, excision with histopathological analysis is performed to exclude malignancy. The clinic also treats congenital naevi in children — including infants — within the paediatric dermatology service. Post-procedure wound care guidance is provided, and scarring is minimised through technique selection appropriate to the anatomical site. Patients with a family history of melanoma or a personal history of multiple atypical naevi can request a full-body skin cancer surveillance consultation at the same visit.
