Microneedling (SkinPen®)

SkinPen microneedling using the FDA-cleared SkinPen Precision device to create controlled micro-channels in the skin, triggering the body's natural wound-healing response and associated collagen and elastin production. Addresses fine lines, mild acne scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin texture. May be combined with PRP, growth factors, or serums for enhanced results. Sessions run approximately forty-five minutes.

JECT NYC's microneedling programme uses the SkinPen Precision — an FDA-cleared Class II medical device manufactured by Crown Aesthetics and the first microneedling device to receive FDA clearance for acne scars in adults. The device uses a sterile single-use tip with twenty-two precisely engineered needles arrayed in a formation that creates consistent, controlled micro-punctures in the skin at adjustable depths from 0.25 mm to 2.5 mm. By creating these microscopic channels in the dermis, the SkinPen triggers the body's natural wound-healing cascade: growth factors and cytokines are released locally, fibroblasts are recruited to the treatment zone, and new collagen and elastin fibres are synthesised in the remodelling phase that follows. This neocollagenesis response — occurring over the four to six weeks following treatment — progressively improves skin texture, reduces the depth and appearance of atrophic acne scars, refines enlarged pores, and smooths fine lines without thermal damage or chromophore targeting, making it suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types. At JECT, microneedling may be combined with PRP or PRFM — the patient's own concentrated growth factors are applied topically to the skin immediately after needling, allowing the growth factor-rich plasma to penetrate the freshly opened micro-channels for enhanced biostimulatory effect. Similarly, hyaluronic acid serums or other active ingredients may be infused during the procedure. A standard course of three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is associated with the best cumulative improvement for acne scarring; maintenance sessions every six months can sustain skin quality outcomes. Post-treatment redness and mild sensitivity resolve within twenty-four to forty-eight hours for most patients.
