Thread Lift (Lifting Threads)

A thread lift uses fine, absorbable threads introduced under the skin to gently reposition and support sagging tissue, giving a subtle lift without surgery. At JCTL the procedure is carried out by Dr Wilk, a surgeon, who places the threads along planned vectors in the lower face, jawline or brow. Beyond the immediate lift, the threads stimulate collagen along their path, and because they dissolve over time the result is a refreshed look without a permanent implant.

A thread lift is a minimally invasive alternative to surgical lifting in which fine, absorbable threads are inserted beneath the skin to reposition and support tissue that has begun to descend. The threads provide an immediate mechanical lift and, as they are gradually absorbed, are associated with stimulation of collagen along their path, which can help maintain the effect for a time after the threads themselves have dissolved. At JCTL the treatment is performed by Dr Jarosław Wilk, whose surgical background is an advantage for planning thread direction and anchoring. After a free consultation to assess your skin laxity and agree the treatment vectors, the area is numbed and the threads are introduced through tiny entry points using a thin needle or cannula. The procedure typically takes under an hour and is done under local anaesthetic, so you remain awake and go home the same day. Expect some swelling, tenderness, occasional bruising and a sensation of tightness for several days, with care taken to avoid excessive facial movement and pressure while the threads settle. The lift is visible soon after treatment and continues to refine as any swelling resolves. Results are temporary — typically lasting a number of months up to around a year or more depending on the threads and the area — after which the treatment can be repeated.
