About this treatment
A dental implant is a small biocompatible titanium post placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Over a healing period the bone integrates with the implant, creating a stable foundation onto which a custom crown, bridge or denture attachment is fixed. Treatment is staged. After assessment and imaging, the implant is placed under local anaesthetic; in some situations the site first needs guided tissue regeneration (bone augmentation) or a sinus floor elevation to provide enough healthy bone, which the clinic offers and prices separately.
