3 Tesla MRI of a single shoulder evaluating rotator cuff tendons, labrum, biceps tendon, and glenohumeral joint on the MAGNETOM Spectra.
The shoulder MRI at IZD MRI uses the MAGNETOM Spectra 3T with dedicated coils to evaluate the rotator cuff tendons (supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis), glenoid labrum, long head of biceps tendon, and glenohumeral joint capsule. Imaging planes include coronal oblique, sagittal oblique, and axial orientations. At 3 Tesla, the increased spatial resolution improves detection of partial-thickness rotator cuff tears, small labral lesions (SLAP tears, Bankart variants), and subtle biceps tendon pathology that may be indeterminate on 1.5T. The radiologist reports on each rotator cuff tendon individually, with tear grading and retraction measurement where applicable. At EUR 170, this is competitive pricing for 3T shoulder imaging in Central Europe. Contrast-enhanced shoulder MRI adds EUR 50 and improves diagnostic accuracy for labral tears and can differentiate scar tissue from recurrent pathology in post-surgical shoulders.
