IV Lighten
Type
IV Vitamin Therapy
Duration
40 min
An intravenous infusion containing glutathione and supporting antioxidants, targeting uneven skin tone, pigmentation, melasma, and sun damage. Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant and plays a role in melanin regulation by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production.
The Lighten IV delivers glutathione — often called the body's master antioxidant — directly into the bloodstream at concentrations that oral supplementation cannot achieve. Oral glutathione has notoriously poor bioavailability because it is broken down by digestive enzymes before absorption. Glutathione influences skin tone through its interaction with tyrosinase, the rate-limiting enzyme in melanin synthesis. By inhibiting tyrosinase activity, glutathione shifts melanin production from darker eumelanin toward lighter pheomelanin, which over time can result in a more even skin tone and reduced appearance of hyperpigmentation. Beyond melanin regulation, glutathione is central to cellular detoxification (Phase II liver conjugation), immune function, and protection against oxidative damage from UV radiation, pollution, and internal metabolic processes. Supporting glutathione levels benefits skin health on multiple fronts. Results from glutathione infusions are cumulative rather than immediate — most clients undertake a series of sessions to see meaningful changes in skin tone and clarity. The infusion takes approximately 30 to 50 minutes. This drip pairs well with the Beauty IV for a comprehensive skin-focused protocol.
