Collagen is the most abundant structural protein in skin, and its production depends on adequate vitamin C, zinc, and amino acid availability. Biotin (vitamin B7) is a co-factor in fatty acid synthesis and plays a role in maintaining the mucous membranes of skin. Zinc supports wound healing, cell division, and immune function in the skin barrier.
