The immune system operates as a multi-layered defence network requiring specific micronutrients at each level — from the physical barriers of skin and mucous membranes to the sophisticated adaptive responses of T-cells, B-cells, and antibody production. The Immunity drip at I.V. Clinic delivers a synergistic combination of the nutrients most critical for immune competence at concentrations that oral supplementation cannot achieve. Vitamin C is central to immune function: it accumulates in immune cells (particularly neutrophils and lymphocytes) at concentrations 10 to 100 times higher than plasma levels, and is rapidly consumed during infection as these cells mount their response. Supplementing during illness barely replaces what the immune system is burning through. High-dose IV vitamin C pre-loads the immune system, building reserves that can be drawn upon when needed. Zinc is required for the development and function of virtually every immune cell type. It supports thymulin production (the hormone that matures T-cells in the thymus), natural killer cell cytotoxicity, neutrophil chemotaxis, and the production of inflammatory cytokines that coordinate the immune response. Zinc deficiency — which is more common than most people realise, particularly among vegetarians, the elderly, and those with gut absorption issues — profoundly impairs immune function.
