Anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) test to assess ovarian reserve.
Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) testing measures the hormone produced by cells in your ovarian follicles, providing the best available estimate of your remaining egg supply (ovarian reserve). Unlike FSH — which fluctuates throughout your menstrual cycle — AMH remains relatively stable, making it a reliable and convenient test that can be taken on any day of your cycle. AMH levels naturally decline with age and become undetectable at menopause. A low AMH level doesn't mean you can't conceive naturally, but it does indicate a smaller remaining egg pool and may influence fertility treatment decisions. The test is increasingly used by women in their 30s for proactive family planning.
Key Details
Who Is This For?
Women considering future family planning who want to understand their fertility timeline. Those undergoing or considering IVF, where AMH helps predict response to stimulation. Women with irregular periods or suspected premature ovarian insufficiency. Anyone who wants an objective measure of their ovarian reserve as part of reproductive health screening.
