The SMASS facelift at ISCARE Klinické centrum is a deep-plane facial rejuvenation procedure targeting the structural causes of facial ageing rather than simply tightening skin. SMASS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) surgery lifts and repositions the underlying fascial and muscular layer of the face — the SMAS — producing results that are more durable and more natural-looking than a skin-only (superficial) lift. MUDr. Alexander Vatľak, the lead plastic surgeon, performs facelift procedures following a detailed pre-operative consultation during which 3D imaging or photographic analysis may be used to model expected outcomes. The surgeon tailors the procedure to the patient's facial anatomy, degree of descent, skin quality, and aesthetic preferences. The standard SMASS face-lift (75,000 Kč) addresses the mid-face, jowls, and lower face. For patients with neck laxity or 'turkey neck', the extended face/necklift SMASS (85,000 Kč) additionally tightens the platysma muscle and removes excess neck skin, creating a well-defined jawline and neck contour. Adding chin liposuction (93,000 Kč total) further defines the cervico-mental angle in patients with submental fat. The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 3–4 hours. Incisions are placed within natural hairlines and anatomical creases to minimise visible scarring. Patients are hospitalised for one day post-operatively. Swelling and bruising are most pronounced in the first 2 weeks; most patients are comfortable returning to social activities within 3–4 weeks. Strenuous exercise resumes after 6 weeks.
