Upper blepharoplasty (17,000 Kč) removes the excess skin that accumulates on the upper eyelid with age, creating a hooded appearance and, in severe cases, restricting the superior visual field. The incision is placed in the natural eyelid crease, making it virtually invisible once healed. Excess skin is excised; if the brow fat pad is prominent, a small amount of fat may be removed or repositioned. Surgery takes 30–45 minutes per side and is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation or light general anaesthesia. Lower blepharoplasty (19,000 Kč) targets under-eye bags caused by herniated orbital fat, and excess lower lid skin. The approach may be transcutaneous (external incision along the lash line) or transconjunctival (inside the eyelid, leaving no external scar) depending on the degree of fat herniation and skin laxity. Fat is removed or repositioned into the tear trough to smooth the transition between eyelid and cheek. Recovery from blepharoplasty is typically faster than from facial surgery. Swelling and bruising peak at 3–4 days and largely resolve within 2 weeks; most patients are comfortable being seen in public after 10–14 days using light make-up over well-healed incisions. Stitches are removed 5–7 days post-operatively. Final results, including complete scar maturation, occur at 6–12 months.
