Abdominoplasty at ISCARE Klinické centrum is a surgical procedure that flattens and reshapes the abdomen by removing excess skin and subcutaneous fat between the navel and pubic hairline, and by tightening the underlying rectus abdominis muscles when they have separated (diastasis recti) — a condition commonly seen after pregnancy or significant weight gain and loss. The procedure is performed by MUDr. Alexander Vatľak. A standard abdominoplasty costs 45,000 Kč and involves a low horizontal incision (placed to be hidden by underwear), removal of the redundant skin-fat flap, fascial plication (muscle repair) if indicated, and repositioning of the navel. Operating time is approximately 2.5–3 hours under general anaesthesia. For patients with additional fat in the flanks or lower abdomen, ISCARE offers combination packages: abdominoplasty plus liposuction of the abdomen or flanks for 55,000 Kč, or both zones combined for 64,000 Kč. Diastasis recti repair as a standalone add-on costs 10,000 Kč when combined with another procedure. Following surgery, patients stay one day in hospital for nursing care and pain management. A compression garment is worn for 6 weeks to reduce swelling and support the repair. Walking in a slightly bent posture is typical for the first 7–10 days to protect the incision. Return to sedentary work is typically possible after 2 weeks; physical activity resumes at 6–8 weeks. Final results — a flat, toned abdomen with a low scar — take 6–12 months to fully emerge as residual swelling resolves. Abdominoplasty results are long-lasting. The muscle repair and skin removal are permanent, although weight gain or future pregnancies can alter outcomes. For this reason, ISCARE recommends the procedure be performed after the patient has completed their family and achieved a stable weight.
