Complete lipid profile measuring total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides. Essential for cardiovascular risk stratification according to European Society of Cardiology guidelines. At 42 PLN (~9.70 EUR), roughly a third of what German private labs charge for the same four-marker panel.
The lipidogram provides the four core lipid measurements required for cardiovascular risk assessment. Total cholesterol gives a headline figure, but clinical decision-making relies on the breakdown: LDL cholesterol is the primary atherogenic lipoprotein targeted by statin therapy, HDL cholesterol is inversely associated with cardiovascular events, and triglycerides reflect metabolic health and dietary patterns. Modern risk calculators (SCORE2 in Europe, Framingham in North America) use these lipid values alongside age, sex, smoking status, and blood pressure to estimate 10-year cardiovascular risk. The total cholesterol-to-HDL ratio and non-HDL cholesterol (total minus HDL) are increasingly recognised as more predictive than any single lipid value. European guidelines recommend LDL below 2.6 mmol/L for moderate-risk patients and below 1.4 mmol/L for very-high-risk patients. InterLab prices the complete lipidogram at 42 PLN. Individual components are available separately — total cholesterol around 15 PLN — but the panel offers better value for a full cardiovascular risk picture. The 5 PLN collection fee applies per visit regardless of the number of tests ordered. Fasting for 10-12 hours before the blood draw is required for accurate triglyceride measurement and calculated LDL values. Water is permitted during the fast. Morning appointments between 08:00 and 10:00 are ideal for fasting draws.

8The main protein component of HDL cholesterol particles. Higher ApoA1 levels reflect more HDL particles and are associated with lower cardiovascular risk. The ApoB/ApoA1 ratio is a powerful predictor of heart disease.
The primary protein on LDL and VLDL particles. Each atherogenic lipoprotein particle carries exactly one ApoB molecule, making it a direct measure of the number of particles that can enter artery walls. Considered a superior predictor of cardiovascular risk compared to LDL cholesterol.
Often called 'good' cholesterol, HDL carries cholesterol away from arteries back to the liver for removal. Higher HDL levels are protective against heart disease. Exercise, healthy fats, and moderate alcohol intake can raise HDL.
Often called 'bad' cholesterol, LDL deposits cholesterol in artery walls, contributing to plaque buildup and atherosclerosis. LDL is the primary target for cardiovascular risk reduction through diet, exercise, and medication.
Lp(a) is a cholesterol-carrying particle linked to genetic risk for heart disease. High levels increase cardiovascular risk.
The combined measure of all cholesterol in your blood, including HDL, LDL, and VLDL. While useful as an overview, the breakdown between HDL and LDL is more clinically meaningful for assessing cardiovascular risk.
The most common type of fat in the body, stored for energy. Elevated triglycerides — often from excess sugar, alcohol, or calories — increase cardiovascular risk and can cause pancreatitis at very high levels.
