Pakiet I bundles the most commonly ordered screening tests into a single affordable package. The complete blood count (morfologia) screens for anaemia, infection, and blood disorders. The lipidogram assesses cardiovascular risk through total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides. The liver enzyme component — AST (aspartate aminotransferase), ALT (alanine aminotransferase), and GGTP (gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase) — detects hepatocellular damage and biliary dysfunction. ALT is the most liver-specific of the three enzymes. Mild ALT elevation is extremely common in the general population, most frequently caused by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which affects an estimated 25% of European adults. AST is also found in cardiac and skeletal muscle, making the AST:ALT ratio diagnostically useful — a ratio above 2 suggests alcohol-related liver disease. GGTP is particularly sensitive to alcohol intake and biliary obstruction; isolated GGTP elevation is a common incidental finding in moderate drinkers. Ordering these tests individually at InterLab would cost approximately 16 PLN (CBC) + 42 PLN (lipidogram) + individual enzyme prices, so the 84 PLN package represents a modest saving.
