The Antera 3D skin analyser at ILK operates on a spectroscopic imaging principle that distinguishes it fundamentally from standard skin analysis devices that rely on single-camera photography or simple moisture meter probes. The device captures multispectral images of the skin at multiple wavelengths simultaneously, then applies proprietary algorithms to extract quantitative data on each of the nine measured parameters. Melanin concentration is mapped by exploiting the differential absorption of specific wavelengths by melanin versus haemoglobin; the resulting map reveals the distribution, depth, and density of pigmentation in a way that a standard photograph cannot. Haemoglobin is similarly mapped — allowing objective assessment of skin redness, rosacea vascularity, and subclinical inflammation that may not be visually obvious under normal lighting. The 3D surface reconstruction analyses the topography of the skin at micron-level precision, providing quantitative measurements of wrinkle depth, pore geometry, and surface texture index — metrics that allow before-and-after comparison that is free from the subjective bias of visual assessment. Elasticity and hydration are measured via dedicated probes as part of the complete Antera 3D protocol, providing biophysical data on the structural and moisture state of the dermis. Photoageing severity is scored by combining the surface topography and pigmentation mapping data. Sensitivity is assessed through redness and vascular density metrics.
