Botulinum Toxin — Wrinkle Treatment

ILK's physicians administer botulinum toxin injections to relax the facial muscles responsible for expression wrinkles on the forehead, glabella (the vertical frown lines between the brows), and the lateral eye area (crow's feet). The toxin is injected using fine needles across the target muscle groups, temporarily blocking the nerve-to-muscle signal and preventing the contractions that etch lines into the skin. Results emerge gradually over 2–7 days, reaching full effect by two weeks, and last approximately four months on a first treatment — an interval that tends to extend to six months or more with successive sessions. A pre-treatment consultation at 300 Kč is required to assess suitability, map the injection zones, and discuss realistic outcomes.

Botulinum toxin wrinkle treatment at ILK is performed by the clinic's physician team following a mandatory medical consultation. The toxin is a purified neuromodulator that, when injected in dilute solution into the belly of a facial muscle, blocks the acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction. The muscle relaxes and can no longer make the repetitive contractions that form dynamic expression lines. The three primary areas treated at this clinic are the glabella — the vertical 'frown lines' or '11s' between the eyebrows, which respond to 4,400 Kč worth of product — and the forehead and crow's feet, each priced at 5,500 Kč, reflecting the slightly larger muscle volume involved. The toxin takes 2–7 days to begin working as it distributes through the muscle tissue and the motor endplate blockade develops; full effect is reached by 14 days. During the initial uptake phase, asymmetric expression is possible and typically resolves as the toxin equilibrates. The duration of effect averages around 4 months for first-time patients, but successive treatments tend to produce progressively longer intervals — commonly 6 months or more — because the muscle gradually undergoes disuse atrophy during repeated treatment cycles. A consultation (300 Kč) is booked before the first session; the physician assesses the depth and distribution of wrinkles, reviews any contraindications (pregnancy, neuromuscular disorders, blood-thinning medications, prior filler history), and designs the injection map. The procedure itself takes only a few minutes once the map is finalised. Redness and small pinpoint marks at each injection site are normal for a few hours.
