Botulinum toxin treatment for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) of the underarms, palms or soles, performed personally by plastic surgeon Prim. MUDr. Inka Třešková. A short outpatient session of superficial micro-injections reduces sweat-gland activity in the treated area, with the effect appearing within 2–5 days and lasting on average around half a year.

About this treatment

Hyperhidrosis — uncontrolled, excessive sweating of the underarms, palms, soles or other areas — can cause significant social stress that resists antiperspirants and lifestyle measures. Botulinum toxin offers a highly effective, low-risk solution: injected superficially into the affected skin, it blocks the nerve signals that drive the sweat glands, sharply reducing sweat production in the treated area.

The procedure at this practice is a quick, uncomplicated outpatient treatment lasting only a few minutes. The skin is ideally hair-free for the application; a numbing cream can be applied beforehand for comfort. After disinfection, the active substance is injected in a fine grid across the affected area. The effect develops within approximately 2 to 5 days.

Results are temporary, which also makes the treatment easy to trial: depending on individual disposition the reduction in sweating lasts 4 to 12 months (on average about half a year), and with regular repeat treatments the effect typically lasts progressively longer.
