Gynecomastia surgery removes enlarged male breast tissue to restore a flat, masculine chest contour. Prim. MUDr. Inka Třešková performs direct surgical removal of the glandular tissue (extirpation), combined where needed with reduction of surrounding fat and excess skin, under general anaesthesia at FN Plzeň with an overnight stay.
About this treatment
Gynecomastia — benign enlargement of male breast tissue — affects a significant share of men and often persists despite weight loss and training, because the enlargement is glandular rather than fatty. Surgical removal is the definitive treatment.
At the free consultation, Dr Třešková examines whether the enlargement is primarily glandular, fatty, or mixed, and recommends the appropriate technique. Pure gland extirpation (from 32,000 Kč) removes the firm glandular disc through a discreet incision at the areola border. Where there is also significant fatty tissue or skin excess, the extirpation is combined with breast reduction (from 38,000 Kč) to flatten and re-drape the whole chest.
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia (included in the price) in the FN Plzeň operating theatres with overnight inpatient recovery billed per the hospital tariff. A compression vest is worn for several weeks to support skin retraction and minimise swelling. Most men return to work within a week; chest training is restricted for about six weeks.
