Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids to open up the eyes and refresh a tired-looking face. At this practice it is performed by an experienced hospital head surgeon under local anaesthesia as a walk-in/walk-out procedure — no general anaesthesia or overnight stay required. A combined brow lift with upper-eyelid correction is available for more pronounced descent of the brow line.

Drooping upper eyelids and under-eye bags are among the earliest and most visible signs of facial ageing — and heavy upper lids can even narrow the field of vision. Blepharoplasty corrects both: on the upper lid, excess skin (and a small strip of muscle and fat if needed) is removed through an incision hidden in the natural lid crease; on the lower lid, fat pads causing bags are removed or repositioned through an incision just under the lash line. Recovery is straightforward: bruising and swelling settle over 7–14 days, fine sutures are removed after about a week, and the thin scars settle into the natural lid crease.
