About this treatment
Overly large breasts can cause chronic back and neck pain, posture problems, skin irritation in the inframammary fold, and difficulty with sport and clothing. Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) addresses both the physical burden and the aesthetic concern in one operation: excess glandular tissue, fat and skin are removed, the breast is reshaped, and the nipple-areola complex is repositioned to a natural height.
Prom. MUDr. Inka Třešková is the head of plastic surgery at FN Plzeň and breast surgery is the core of her private practice — reduction, lift and augmentation. During the free consultation she discusses the desired target size, examines tissue quality, and explains the incision pattern (typically an anchor or lollipop technique depending on the degree of reduction), expected scarring, and recovery timeline.
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia (included in the price) in university-hospital theatres, with at least one night of inpatient recovery billed per the FN Plzeň tariff. A compression bra is worn for several weeks. Most patients return to light work within one to two weeks; heavy lifting and sport are restricted for around six weeks. Scars mature and fade significantly over 6–12 months.
