Mineral Balance — Trace Elements Infusion

Type

IV Vitamin Therapy

Duration

45 min

Mineral Balance is a targeted trace-element infusion at IntMed CB covering eight essential minerals: zinc, copper, manganese, iodine, fluoride, molybdenum, selenium, and chromium. These trace elements act as cofactors for hundreds of enzymes and are involved in immune defence, thyroid hormone synthesis, blood glucose regulation, antioxidant systems, bone mineralisation, and amino acid metabolism. Oral trace mineral supplements can be poorly absorbed — particularly zinc and selenium — making IV delivery an efficient way to restore adequate tissue levels. The session runs 30–60 minutes in IntMed CB's purpose-built infusion room and qualifies for the clinic's 4+1 free promotion.

Mineral Balance targets the eight trace elements most commonly implicated in functional micronutrient deficiencies: zinc, copper, manganese, iodine, fluoride, molybdenum, selenium, and chromium. Each has specific metabolic functions that cannot be fulfilled by other minerals: Zinc is required for the catalytic activity of over 300 enzymes and structural proteins, and is essential for lymphocyte proliferation, antibody production, wound healing, and normal taste and smell. Copper is necessary for the synthesis of haemoglobin, the function of cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, and the maintenance of the nervous system's myelin sheaths. Manganese activates the mitochondrial superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) enzyme — one of the cell's primary antioxidant defences — and is also involved in bone matrix formation and gluconeogenesis. Iodine is the principal raw material for thyroid hormones (T3 and T4); even mild deficiency impairs metabolic rate, body temperature regulation, and cognitive function. Fluoride stabilises hydroxyapatite crystals in bone and tooth enamel, contributing to mineralisation density. Molybdenum is a cofactor for sulphite oxidase and xanthine dehydrogenase and is important in amino acid catabolism pathways. Selenium is the foundation of glutathione peroxidase and thioredoxin reductase — two of the body's major antioxidant enzymes — and is also required for the conversion of thyroxine (T4) to the active thyroid hormone T3. Chromium enhances insulin receptor signalling and improves cellular glucose uptake, making it relevant for clients with blood glucose regulation concerns. Intravenous delivery ensures these minerals are bioavailable regardless of gut absorption capacity, which is particularly relevant for minerals like zinc and selenium where food matrix interactions or gut inflammation can significantly limit oral uptake. The session at IntMed CB follows the standard format: nurse-inserted IV cannula, MedCaptain VP-60 pump control, Prymak reclining chair, physician oversight. A one-time medical consultation (500 Kč, valid 1 year) screens for any conditions where individual trace elements should be used with caution (e.g., copper excess in Wilson's disease, iodine in thyroid conditions). Mineral Balance qualifies for the 4+1 free promotion — a course of five sessions for the price of four.
