The After Party IV infusion at Infuze Pomáhá addresses the physiology of alcohol-related hangover: acute dehydration, electrolyte imbalance (particularly sodium, potassium, and magnesium depletion), vitamin B1 (thiamine) depletion, reactive hypoglycaemia, and secondary acetaldehyde toxicity from alcohol metabolism.
Alcohol is a potent diuretic that suppresses antidiuretic hormone (ADH), causing the kidneys to excrete far more fluid than consumed. A standard evening of drinking can create a fluid deficit of one to two litres.
