CBCT 3D Dental Scan

Type

CT Scan

Duration

20 min

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) produces a detailed 3D X-ray of the teeth, jawbone and surrounding structures, used to plan implants, assess impacted teeth, investigate root canals and evaluate surgery. InDent offers in-house CBCT so diagnosis and treatment planning happen in one place, with options for a single jaw, both jaws or a focused small-volume scan. Conventional panoramic and orthodontic radiographs are also available on the same price list.

Cone-beam computed tomography is a specialised dental X-ray that captures a three-dimensional image of the jaws, teeth, nerve canals, sinuses and bone at much lower radiation than a medical CT scan. The 3D view gives information that flat X-rays cannot, and it is associated with safer, more precise planning across several areas of dentistry — judging bone volume and nerve position before implant placement, locating extra or curved canals in endodontics, assessing impacted wisdom teeth, and evaluating cysts, fractures or surgical sites. Having CBCT in-house means InDent can diagnose, plan and treat without referring patients elsewhere for imaging, which is convenient for visitors arranging treatment over a short stay. The scan itself is quick and non-invasive: you stand or sit still while the machine rotates once around your head, and the data is reconstructed into cross-sectional and 3D images the dentist reviews on screen. The clinic offers a focused 5×5 cm field for a single area, a single-jaw scan and a both-jaws scan, so the field of view — and the dose — is matched to what is clinically needed. For orthodontic and routine assessment the practice also provides digital panoramic radiographs and cephalometric images, including a combined orthodontic package. Imaging is taken only when clinically justified, and the findings are explained to you as part of planning your treatment. The price list itemises each scan type so the cost is clear in advance.
