Orthodontic treatment with fixed braces gradually moves teeth into a straighter, better-aligned position and corrects how the upper and lower teeth meet. Brackets are bonded to the teeth and connected by an archwire that applies gentle, continuous pressure; at adjustment visits the wires are changed or activated to guide the teeth steadily towards the planned positions. As well as improving appearance, well-aligned teeth can be easier to clean and may reduce uneven wear. Treatment at Implantclinic is led by an orthodontic specialist, lek. stom. Classic metal brackets are the most economical and robust; ceramic and crystal brackets are tooth-coloured or clear for a more discreet look; and self-ligating Damon systems, in metal or aesthetic versions, hold the wire without elastic ties. Treatment begins with an orthodontic consultation, records and impressions, after which the appliance is fitted and reviewed at regular activation appointments. The clinic also provides a wide range of removable and functional appliances and space maintainers for younger patients. Once the teeth are in position, the braces are removed and a retainer — a fixed or removable retention appliance — is provided to hold the result, with retention reviews afterwards.
