A custom-made cap that covers and protects a tooth that is heavily filled, cracked or root-treated, restoring its shape, strength and appearance. About this treatment

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped restoration that fits over a prepared natural tooth to rebuild it when too much structure has been lost to a large filling, fracture or root-canal treatment. By encasing the remaining tooth, a crown restores its function and protects it from further breakdown, while also improving its colour and shape. At Implantclinic the tooth is shaped under local anaesthetic and a digital or conventional impression is taken; the clinic's CEREC system allows many all-ceramic crowns to be designed and milled chairside, and an in-house laboratory supports more complex prosthetic work.
