Non-surgical skin tightening at IDS Clinic encompasses two primary energy-based modalities: High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) and Radiofrequency (RF), both offered as standalone treatments and in combination protocols depending on the patient's skin laxity and desired outcome. HIFU, delivered by devices employing micro-focused ultrasound with real-time visualisation (MFU-V), targets the superficial musculo-aponeurotic system (SMAS) — the same anatomical layer addressed in surgical facelifts — as well as the deep dermis and superficial dermis. Energy is focused at precise depths of 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.5 mm, creating tiny zones of controlled thermal injury at 60–70°C. This thermal damage triggers a wound-healing response that produces new collagen and elastin, resulting in gradual lifting and tightening. HIFU is particularly effective for brow lifting, improving jawline definition, neck and submental tightening, and reducing the appearance of jowls. Results develop over a period of 3 to 6 months and can last beyond 12 months, with maintenance sessions recommended annually. Radiofrequency devices deliver electrical energy as heat into the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Monopolar RF achieves the deepest penetration for broad facial and body tightening, while bipolar RF focuses on superficial dermal layers for fine line improvement. Fractional RF microneedling combines microneedle penetration with RF energy delivery at the needle tips, enhancing collagen remodelling and skin texture simultaneously. The clinic also offers combination protocols that pair HIFU with injectable biostimulators or dermal fillers for a comprehensive non-surgical facelift approach. Treatment duration ranges from 30 minutes for a targeted area to 90 minutes for a full-face, neck, and décolleté protocol. No downtime is required, and patients can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Mild redness and slight swelling may be present for a few hours post-treatment.
